ABOUT WOMEN - NEATH / WALES UK 2022

ABOUT WOMEN -STUDIO40 CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE

NEATH- WALES-UK

INSTALLATION OF THE COMPLETE COLLECTION

AND POSTCARDS RECEIVED FROM THE LAST CALL "WOMEN AT WAR"

Thank you for this shared dream that is now a reality.

A great night meeting interesting and cute people. The curiosity of the other through art is always motivating. In addition, our surreal odyssey with UK customs ended yesterday a few hours before opening, we did not have time to put everything missing on the walls, but it was exposed to visitors... Each postcard tells a life story, and together they have a powerful message that does not leave us indifferent. We still have many outstanding issues about how women are, feel and need today. Justice, equality, visibility, respect and love.

I want to thank everyone who joined us on this opening night.

Thank you to all the people who sent your postcards, for their empathy and generosity. Each postcard is a life story, together they are a powerful message!

Thanks to the entire team at Studio40 Contemporary Art Centre

Infinite thanks to our ambassador Rosemary Cassidy Buswell for her great fortitude in dealing with customs, for her big heart and creativity for every day we have shared with her family.

ABOUT WOMEN :: CALL & NEXT EXHIBITION IN UK

#Convocatoria #ABOUTWOMEN2022 #Opencall

LOSS, 2012-2013
It all started with the stress of moving countries: my hair was coming out in clumps.  I have dark, thick long hair, which made it all the more dramatic.  Then I found myself in a rented house, which will never feel like my own.  For many reasons this was going to be a slightly longer term situation than I would have wanted.  The house has a good shower room.  And this is what I do.  I use constraints as material for my work.  I turn the situation around and the “loss” becomes a “gain”.  The medium employed is digital photography, but the language - and the intention - has more to do with drawing: these are hair drawings.
