LOSS, 2012-2013
Todo empezó con el estrés de cambiar de país: el cabello se me caía a mechones. Mi pelo es largo, grueso y oscuro, por lo cual la situación parecía aun más dramática. Luego me encontré viviendo en una casa de alquiler que, por muchas razones, nunca me iba aparecer un hogar. Esta situación, por varias circunstancias, iba a durar más de lo previsto. La casa tiene una ducha estupenda… Esto es lo que hago: uso las restricciones como material para mi trabajo. Le doy la vuelta a la situación y la pérdida (Loss) se convierte en ganancia. El medio utilizado es fotografía digital, pero el lenguaje (y la intención) tienen más que ver con el dibujo
LOSS, 2012-2013
It all started with the stress of moving countries: my hair was coming out in clumps. I have dark, thick long hair, which made it all the more dramatic. Then I found myself in a rented house, which will never feel like my own. For many reasons this was going to be a slightly longer term situation than I would have wanted. The house has a good shower room. And this is what I do. I use constraints as material for my work. I turn the situation around and the “loss” becomes a “gain”. The medium employed is digital photography, but the language - and the intention - has more to do with drawing: these are hair drawings.
